The Four Weekly Sermons
Warning!
CHAPTER ONE - CHRISTIAN ATHEIST
A special Thank You for the help I received in presenting this 1st Chapter!
This Chapter was based on a four-week sermon series by Pastor Dale Sharp several years before I started to write my story. Used with permission. The four main points were introduced in the book, Christian Atheist Copyright © 2010 by Craig Goeschel. Used with permission.
Christian Atheist: Someone who believes in God but lives as though God does not exist.
Christian Atheist 1: Someone who believes in God but does not know Him.
Christian Atheist 2: Someone who believes in God but does not fear* Him.
Christian Atheist 3: Someone who believes in God but does not want to go overboard.
Christian Atheist 4: Someone who believes in God but does not fully trust Him.
My Christian walk reflected many of the basic concepts of these four sermons, so they were well received as I was writing my story. Some of the points did not reflect my Christian Walk at all. I wrote about my own personal walk. I never read Craig’s book, but there may be some concepts in his work that may be of benefit to you in understanding your walk of faith.
Thank-you for your time and interest in my effort to share my story. I may offer brief thoughts about my other chapters later, but for now hopefully you have enough information to look forward to reading more.
Many Blessings,
Gpa
*The English word Fear does not reflect the full Hebrew understanding of God Fearing. The full understanding includes Fearing God’s Judgements, but also it reflects our Awe that God is beyond our understanding and Reverence: Deep Respect for God.
As you read this outline of Chapter One of my book, you may feel your faith is being challenged. But It is OK, because most Christians go through these four seasons as they mature in their faith.
This was true for me as I explain my personal feelings to those four sermons that are the foundation to this very important Chapter.
One example of the information about Knowing God (Part 1) and Fully Trusting God (Part 4) is well documented in the Rotary God Moment Update dated August 10, 2019, in the Next Tab.
It may help you understanding why I am so confident in my faith.
