Rotary God Moment Update

As you read this important Rotary God Moment Update on God’s Perfect Timing, hopefully you will have a better understanding and appreciation of the very complex nature of God's Perfect Ways and especially His Perfect Timing….

​Several months after my book was originally published with the Rotary Story in the Foreword section of my book. (My Boardman Rotary experience was mentioned in my discussion about the Foreword section of my book.) I found this original email from that Fellow Rotarian again on August 10, 2019, before we moved back to Conneaut Ohio.

It became another special God moment for me! 

I had missed something so very important in telling the story of our Rotary Club meeting in my Forward, it was this email and the specific timing that it documents; It helps me to understand and explain God's strategic timing  and why this email was such a God moment...

It was so great to speak with you today at Boardman Rotary.

​You are a difference maker. You made a special difference in my life at a moment in time and you made a great memory for me today. It is so refreshing to visit with people who have a "Kingdom" first attitude. Yours shines like the lighthouse to a boater on stormy waters.

Here is what makes this email such a special God moment for me, God's perfect timing. I only worked at Trigg's Marine Supply before I went to college in 1966 and then during my Mom's second battle with cancer, from mid-1987 to 1989. (over 20 twenty years later) My family had moved back from Alaska, so we could help my Dad take care of my Mom, who was in home Hospice care. My brother Bill hired me as an extra part-time salesperson, so I could help my Mom and Dad whenever necessary. 

The timing for our initial "moment in time" mentioned in the e-mail was also precise and the Holy Spirit was available.

​Twenty-six to twenty-seven years would pass, before we would have another very chance meeting, this time at the Boardman Rotary Club. The reason I call our meeting "very chance" is because I always came back to Ohio during the Summer months. 

In 2014, I drove back to Ohio for my brother Bill's surprise 75th Birthday Party on March 15th. I attended the Boardman Rotary Club the next Tuesday, March 18, 2014, before I drove to Indianapolis, IN on my way back to Kingman, Arizona.

I stay with my Sister-in-law, Sheri and her husband Tom in Indy. While I was there, I got a call from my wife, Debi that their Mom was near death in Hospice Care in Boca Raton, FL. I drove Sheri down to Florida and Debi flew in from Las Vegas. 

Mom "D" pasted on Monday March 24, 2014, after which Debi and I headed to Oviedo, FL to spend time with our daughter Jesse and her family. Then off to Alexandria, Louisiana and Dallas, Texas to overnight with close friends. One more stop and then into Kingman.

​We arrived in Kingman on Friday after a long drive. Debi planned on going to work on Saturday. Instead, we spent time at the local hospital, then Debi was admitted with a suspected stroke. The stroke was confirmed, and Debi's nursing career ended abruptly that weekend.

Our lives were turned upside down in a terrible moment, it was well over a week before I caught up with all my emails. The email above, that I received on March 18th, was such a comfort to me. It reminded me that I was a child of God and protected by His grace.

It reminded me of how God protected my family when I had my toxic shock experience in 2000, I knew we would be OK.

God Supernaturally and Strategically places people in our lives for a moment, a season or a lifetime. We do not always understand, but we can recognize God's hand in our lives. I thank God for my dear friend and Fellow Rotarian, who sent me that email that gave me such great comfort when I really needed it. To God be the Glory!

Most people, including Charles Darwin until much later in his life, do not realize that the Creator God of the Bible wants a very personal relationship with everyone of His children: Including you and me.
